Social partners – the Free Trade Union Confederation of Latvia (LBAS) and Employers’ Confederation of Latvia (LDDK) – have reviewed the Recovery and Resilience Plan Facility (RRF) draft Plan of Latvia (in the wording of January 20, 2021) and concluded that the draft Plan of Latvia needs conceptual adjustment and improvement.
Due to insufficient consultation of Latvian social partners by the government institutions during development of the Plan, they addressed the European Commission, asking during assessment of draft Plan of Latvia to take into account the position of the national social partners and to inform them about European Commission’s opinion on the draft Plan of Latvia.
The European Commission should communicate to the Member states the importance of social partner involvement in the next steps of RRF plan development to ensure that the views of the social partners are adequately represented in the final draft of the RRF plan of Latvia.
