11:10-12:00 The EPSR Action Plan addressing labour markets neglected potentials: quality jobs andinclusiveness across all ages for adequate effective and solidarity-based social protection
Grounding the social and economic prosperity of an ageing society in more and better jobs for all and across allgenerations – Achieving the 78% employment by 2030 through fostered LM inclusiveness of marginalised groups(Principles 2, 4, 9, 17) and active ageing – Quality jobs: granting access, effectiveness and adequacy of social protection toall irrespective of the form of employment – Tackling working age population’s shrinking with respect to retired people byenhancing labour markets’ mobility –Providing dignified jobs (Principles 5, 6), safety nets and enabling support (Principle4, 14) to working age generations (no matter the employment status), while building solid social protection for themselvesand for the elderly ones (Principles 12, 15, 16).
12:00-12:45 “Dignity of ageing” vs “Cost of ageing”, “ETUC SociAll” for a new EU narrative: implementingthe EPSR and revisiting social protection funding policy and the European Economic Governance approach
The “silver economy” as an opportunity for an ageing society – EU Economic Governance acknowledging the demographictrends need-based demands and allocating consistent funds, investments and reforms – Fiscal reforms for solidarity-based health and pension systems.
